Now, if your vaunted History degree told you anything it would be that the South and the North are actually one country called the United States of America.
Your mocking of Andersonville is something, if you actually were a student of history, you would not do.
My guess is that you defaulted down to your History major, so you really don’t have that interest, you merely have it rather than have no degree whatsoever. This is why you are so clueless.

You mean the same south that sends soldiers to the battlefield at a higher rate than other areas?.....or perhaps the same south that is the birthplace of more Presidents?, maybe the same south that enshrines patriotism and the aforementioned military service more than any other area?, or maybe the same south that people from NY, NJ,and other points north of the Mason-Dixon line have and continue to flock towards because of our comparative abundance of freedom?
Put that in your crackpipe and smoke it, Jersey, and hit the books. It goes to show you that Emory’s Yankee affirmative action policy did no good on a student that refused to learn.

I suppose you’ve been bested by Southern men your whole life, that would explain your disproportionate reaction throughout this thread.
So you want to learn history, Jersey? forgo Myrtle Beach, and go the extra distance to Charleston to see where it all began. You might swing by the Citadel to see a fine Southern Military College while you are there - you’ll begin to understand why Southern troops were the best then - and now - including Southern Generalship.
On your way back take a detour to Appomattox to see where it ended, and maybe a short jaunt to Lexington to visit the grave site of Gen Stonewall Jackson, and Lee Chapel wherein is interred the great American Gen Robert E Lee. Stroll over to see Virginia Military Institute for another fine example of a Military College in the fine Southern tradition.
Stop by Wilderness, Fredericksburg, and Manassas Battlefields, maybe Antietam, and definitely Gettysburg, too. Then you’ll start to be able to claim to be a student of Civil War History, instead of angrily pretending like you do now.

I was in Lexington a few years ago. An interesting place and a beautiful area. I loved Wasington and Lee College. I now wish I had went there! Sonewall Jackson’s gravesite and Lee Chapel are Hallowed Ground as far as I’m concerned. And even “Traveler’s” gravesite.
