Could be. Why do you think Nixon cut Apollo and cutback the Shuttle? Regardless, going back to the Moon now is a bad idea. NASA should be working on suborbital and LEO transportation systems that are affordable, reliable, safe, and with quick turnaround times.

If obama actually cared about America, he would fund NASA, currently it is .5 of 1% of the budget,going back to the moon,requires a increase to .65 of 1% of the current budget, not the one coming out tomorrow.

His intention is to destroy this country by spending ungodly amounts of money to fund 30k a year jobs.

There used to be a time in this country when NASA represented the best scientific minds in the country, and I am sure there are people today who work for NASA who are smarter than me. However, I believe that NASA has turned into yet another Washington bureaucratic rats' nest where poltics, not science is the driven force behind who gets what funding.

The fact that 15 years ago a project to Mars failed because someone could not properly convert metric or that only 8 years we learned that NASA was using ebay to find space shuttle computer parts had indicated that NASA had jumped the shark.
