Ernest_at_the_Beach: I am guessing the A4 represents a quad processor.
I think it's at least partly a play on Apple's older product history, but you could be right. Apple bought out PA Semi (I think that's mentioned in the live thread) and that made this possible, I'd guess. The A4 may represent a quad as you said, but it very likely represents Apple's mobile computing future.
