These people that cry — how can they be that self-delusional?
Get a camcorder and watch and listen to yourself folks. Evaluate yourself as if you weren’t you watching you.
For example, I *HATE* the sound of my speaking voice. I don’t do any voice-overs on camcorder vacation recordings because I recoil.
OTOH, I do OK at Karaoke, since I can imitate singers decently and it comes across pretty good on video/audio.
Even then, I would never go on Idol or Factor X or America’s Got Talent, since I know I am just doing imitations.
These people need to wake up in Reality Land.
This women is nuts. Singing his her life? She needs a new hobby.

Serious people do that, I would think. But these delusional types--if they saw what we see, they would convince themselves that the camera was wrong. And that everyone who's telling them they're talented are right.
Exactly what I said when we were watching just now. No matter what I think I sound like, we have all seen for years that this panel of judges can decipher a diamond in the rough from a nervous accapella young singer in jeans and sneakers. If they say I stink, man, I STINK. What idiots to go on out of there and be so SURE that the judges are wrong.
It's like Engrish (see engrish.com). Though my Japanese is not good enough for me to write product copy or signage, at least I do not ATTEMPT to do it. The kind of confidence these copywriters have in Asia bears absolutely no resemblance to their actual English language abilities.
