well all things considered the first night back went well. jonny almost had a disaster with the tv thing, I need more and better snacks and the dog needs to now schedule it's walk around AI. RK was here in good humor as always.
oh and there was a show on along with this thread:)
LMAO!! Those people are much, much dumber. ;-) Trust.
LOL! The show is just an excuse to get together. Like one of those book clubs that gets together as an excuse for margaritas.
I was going to workout, but instead I just jumped up and down in my bathroom this morning yelling, “I am wicked awesome! I am wicked awesome!” over and over again. I’m going to count it as cardio.
Well, they let that one with the fine behind go.
She should have created a good "back" story before she went in. And she should have backed into the room!
;)
>>Once they go to Hollywood, how do they go through so many people so quickly? Would appreciate a short lesson in how it works at this stage. Thanks!<<
There are actually 10 or 15 teams of evaluators. The actual judges (Simon, Randy and them chicks), don’t see anyone until the producers select the ones bad, good or strange enough to be seen on TV.
It is 100% sure that someone seen on TV will be in the finals. If you are one of the “all told, 31 people from City X” and never get on camera, you will be gone soon.

Margaritas!!! Jonny, we have a theme for tonight!!!!
Nice reprieve from the bone-chilling cold down here on the Gulf Coast!
It’s not the same without Paula, she was such a cougar, I mean, uh, tiger. But seriously, I wont watch it with Ellen on it, the show is dead to me now ...
Time to put some Buffett on the stereo, some salt on the rims and think warm thoughts... :)
Question..do you recall, from previous AI season, what percentage of the top 24 were actually featured on the early selectio shows...IOW, is it the kiss of death? I know Carrie Underwood got a big time slot for her audition..but is that typical?
This is a strategic post, positioning myself early on for the 10,000th post prize...
IIRC, Elliott Yamin was one of those people whose audition was never shown. He was just shown briefly coming out the door with his Golden Ticket. And he made it to #3 his season, so there must be exceptions. I think he WAS shown a little bit during Hollywood Week, but that could be because he was stuck doing his group number with one of those notorious Brittenum Twins, thus, lots of "drama."

True — there are exceptions. But I wouldn’t lay hard cash on it. All the back-channel gossip I have read suggests that the producers “target” a handful of contestants and basically rig the system to propel them into the finals (I don’t know about the final final).
But that is just 2nd and 3rd hand gossip (now 4th hand with this post LOL) — the reality may be not such a cynical setup...

Good plan, but I am now standing on your strategic post with MY strategic post...:)
Yeah, I’m sure things are a lot more scripted and planned than what the average viewer would think!
It kinda sounds like your computer was having an exorcism.... :/
oooh oreo sundae....I’m in...
I think they give a few people who they have high hopes for a lot of time. Then there are a few people who are kind of dark-horses who we don't see until the top 24. I don't think we saw much of Bo Bice. I do remember seeing Chris Daughtry featured. It's probably 60/40.
A few seasons ago, nearly every person who was featured was cut. I remember Jonny's opening for the top 24 was something like, "Welcome to the top 24. Who are these people?" LMAO
