Several years ago, right after we moved to Knetucky, my parents came for a visit. My wife had been after me to change the stairway to the basement around so there would be a landing and then a 90 degree change of direction into the family room. It required cutting into a load bearing wall which I was sort of iffy about doing. Well, when my dad was there he asked her if there was anything he could do for her. She put her arm around him and walked him to the top of the stairs and told him what she wanted to do. He replied “there is nothing a man can’t do if he puts his mind to it.” He then picked up a claw hammer and started knocking a hole in the wall.
We now have a nicely done stairwell and I have learned that I can tackle just about any job around the house that needs to be done, to include removing and installing a new heating/air conditioning system a few years ago.
