I lost 130 pounds by simply spending 2 months in a hospital, but it’s trying to creep back.
What has always worked for me is simple.
-No seconds except on Thanksgiving.
-Moderation in all things eaten.
-No snacks 3 hours before bed... that’s generally 9PM.
-Walk, walk and then walk.
-Eat 5 or 6 times a day instead of 3... graze on smaller amounts... don’t pork out.
-Drink lots of water, especially before each meal.
-Cheat on all of the above once a month.
For me, the most important thing is walking. If I don’t walk each day, I bulk up in a heartbeat.
If anyone reading this drops a few pounds, please send me $29.95.
i did hear an interesting talk today by an MD who was talking about how the food industry (and probably some fine bakers) are creating addicting foods with the perfect combination of taste, texture, visual appeal so that you can’t just eat one.
he did say one interesting thing which made me wonder and that is that msg (which is in so many products) affects your insulin in such a way that it spikes and then drops in a short time, causing you to get hungry.
now i would have to say if this is part of what is going on (puposefully causing spikes, etc in body chemistry to get the desired effect) that is about as bad as the tobacco industry spiking and tweaking tobacco to addict you.
