It was a pretty entertaining movie until the ending.

I can’t emphasize how utterly miserable (and moronic) that ending was. It was basically Frank Darabont giving the finger to anyone who bothered to sit through his movie. I don’t think an ending could be any worse than the ending of “The Mist”.

I have stacks upon stacks of Stephen King books in my library, with "The Mist" being my favorite short story of all his works. I was tickled pink when I heard they were making a movie of it.

However, when I heard they rewrote the ending to it, I was disgusted and swore not to watch it. When I heard that Stephen King himself loved it, endorsed it, and wished he had wrote it that way, I stopped reading his stuff. To hell with him.
