Did Obama Miss a Great Opportunity by NOT Visiting Rush Limbaugh in Hawaiian Hospital?

Barack Obama once again proved he has a tin ear for politics when he did NOT visit Rush Limbaugh in the hospital. With his low approval ratings, Obama could have done himself a lot of good by visiting Rush who was nearby in the Hawaiian hospital. Too late now. Obama missed a great opportunity to help himself. This just demonstrates his poor ability at politics at even a personal level.

Rush has always been delighted to run into popular Liberals and strike up a conversation with them, like when he met Bill Clinton in a restaurant. Even some favorite golf partners of his are liberals. But somehow I feel Rush would of felt violated and used if Obama would of showed up.

I always heard this was suppose to be a “bipartisan” gov’t, and they wanted to hear from everyone. Isn’t that why they put up the website o hear everyone when they first got elected? This would have put an example of it into the peoples mind.

The Lwft doesn’t consider Rush to even be human — so there would be no point — they’re not interested i appearing to be fair.

Good point. Obama though would risk getting an earful from Limbaugh.

I had a similar thought. But, I assumed Obama is far to arrogant to make such a gesture.
And there is the high likelihood that any verbal exchange would have come off with Obama looking like the ego-mad lightweight that he is...and besides, he would never take time away from golf/snorkeling/playtime.

A Presidential visit could be awkward with all the security people and traffic detours.
But if Obama didn't send flowers, it was a missed opportunity.

Nah, if he did that, his liberal base would despise him for it, and we conservatives would only be suspicious or rolling our eyes. It certainly wouldn’t make us like him any better, if he even cares about that. Looking at it from BO’s point of view, it would be a lose/lose.

Rush's supporters do not like Obama and his policies period. Why should Obama attempt to pander to a group that he's never going to win over anyway? ---

The critical votes are owned by the independents. Magnanimity is admired by nonpartisans. But pandering isn't. Anyone who would believe that Obama would be seriously concerned about Limbaugh's health, or that Limbaugh would be seriously concerned about Obama's health, is naive. Any rational person would see such an act for exactly what it was.

Obama was still trying to stick more pins in his voodoo doll made up like Rush.
