Oh pleeeazzee.... everyone knows the conspiricy theorist's favorite choice for William Shakespeare was Sir Francis Bacon. Do we really need to add any more candidates to the list.

Frankly, I find it amusing that so many people think you can take a historical figure who had a well documented life and career and say that his life's work was another man's.

This is incredibly silly. There is ample evidence of William Shakespeare's life, travels, writing, production of plays, acting and death. This conspiricy nonsense is no different than a future generation coming up with a theory that Bob Dylan's songs were actually written by J Paul Getty.

I thought it was Bob Dylan who wrote Woody Gutrie’s songs? J. Paul Getty wrote Elvis Presley’s hits, that’s common knowledge among music historians and culture buffs.

Agreed! I have always been curious about what the motivation behind the conspiracy theories behind Shakespeare. It is as if we can accept the musical genius of a man such as Mozart, but we cannot accept the literary genius of the Bard.
