“not married. Don’t care.”

I thought they were married all of this time. Isn’t she a bit older than he is? He does not seem to age whereas Susan.................

I see that “living together to test things out” really helped keep them together.

People living together seek the best of both worlds but usually wind up with the worst of both worlds. [Welcome2thejungle]

Just thought I'd point out that ya'll are passing judgement on two people who stayed together, AFAIK loyally, for 23 years. Since that is vastly beyond the average lifespan of a church marriage in our society, I think it deserves a lot of respect.

I could also point out that the common law acknowledges that marriage is between two people and God, lived faithfully in one's community, free of the approval (or judgement) of any particular church, but somehow I don't think that would count for much here. On the other hand, if you subtract it, then Tiger woulds is an honestly married man needing counseling, while Sarandon and Robbins livied in sin despite their 23 faithful years together.

Politically, these people are beyond loathsome, and in many ways seditious. Nevertheless, I believe that presuming to judge the legitimacy of their union before God is to rush in where angels fear to tread. Just saying.
