Her daughter’s out there urging women to withhold sex if their boyfriends don’t support climate change legislation.

Actually, Dim females withholding sex is a capital idea! The main problem is that they just haven't being doing it enough. Can't you just imagine a world in which Dims didn't breed at all?

She must think she is in a Greek drama.

Well, if he ends up having to move to a new apartment in New York, I hope he goes to the right polling place next time.

Partner—not couple, not married. Don’t care. [OCCASparky]

Exactly. [frogjerk]

Ditto.. [Thommas]

People living together seek the best of both worlds but usually wind up with the worst of both worlds. [Welcome2thejungle]

Just thought I'd point out that ya'll are passing judgement on two people who stayed together, AFAIK loyally, for 23 years. Since that is vastly beyond the average lifespan of a church marriage in our society, I think it deserves a lot of respect.

I could also point out that the common law acknowledges that marriage is between two people and God, lived faithfully in one's community, free of the approval (or judgement) of any particular church, but somehow I don't think that would count for much here. On the other hand, if you subtract it, then Tiger woulds is an honestly married man needing counseling, while Sarandon and Robbins livied in sin despite their 23 faithful years together.

Politically, these people are beyond loathsome, and in many ways seditious. Nevertheless, I believe that presuming to judge the legitimacy of their union before God is to rush in where angels fear to tread. Just saying.

Around Free Republic, marriage isn't marriage unless it is fully blessed by the state and constitutes a fully actualized taxation entity.

You have no idea if they’ve been faithful or not. For all you know they could be swingers. Or practicing bisexuals.

Yeah, but I'm not making any suggestions about such things like you are - with no evidence whatsoever. That's called slander. Until you have other evidence, you have to assume perfect fidelity on their part.

In addition, since churchmarried couples have occasionally been known to be unfaithful without that difficulty calling into question the validity of their original union, then I hardly think that if such things existed here they would have anything to do with the original validity of their relationship.

They woke up one morning after a Mazola-thon, looked at each other, and said to themselves “Hey, we really ARE a couple of pukes. Let’s celebrate our insecurity in typical Hollywood fashion, by getting some kind of augmentation surgery, divorcing each other, and taking up with bubbleheads half our age!”

You'll note however that *lesbians* can continue to get all the action they want.
