With another beautiful TV Housewife, Connie Hines, passing away, it's once again to ponder the age old question of who was the most beautiful TV housewife in the golden age of Television. You remember those days, before the rabid left took over and gave us crap like Will and Grace, Desperate Housewives, and Tila Tequila.
My top 5, in no particular order.
5. Jeannie - the one and only Barbara Eden
4. Samantha - the incomparable Elizabeth Montgomery
3. Donna Reed - from the Donna Reed Show
2. Lucille Ball - quite stunning in her younger days
1. Laura Petrie - oooh la la

Elisabeth Montgomery hands down. Barbera Eden is a distant second.

She was my idol growing up. Adore her! And she was one of the most beautiful (and unappreciated) ladies of the 80s.

Way too much snooty b**** attitude. I don’t know if that was just the character, or her, but let’s face it, they’re inseparable when considered in things like this.

She was my favorite of all the TV babes of that era.

Of course Laura wore those soft sweaters, tight pants, was confident in her home, and had the loveable wife thing going on. Mary wore the more blah professional working womans stuff, and always seem confused when it came to relationships.I certainly do not think Laura's attractiveness was that she was someone else's wife! She definitely looked great in stylish 60's fashions, while Mary Richards was doomed to 70's attire-the least fashionable period of the century. Laura was a sweet and endearing character. You are correct that Mary was sort of "blah" as she "blazed a trail for women in the workplace".

I don't know what to say. FR occasionally amazes, but this is over the top! You did a photo shoot of Suzanne Pleshette??!!
This is quite a coincidence. We stopped watching prime time network TV years ago, as it got coarser and coarser and less and less funny. Instead, we play DVD's of classic TV shows. It's surprising how many are just as good today as back in the day. One of our very favorites is the original Newhart show. Suzanne was cute as could be and was great playing the "straight man" to Bob Newhart and Bill Daily, not an easy task!

Suzanne Pleshette was the greatest.
I loved her delivery, also.
I don’t understand the side comment you made, though - she wasn’t gay.
