There have been many great, and not so great, Freepers in the last decade. Tell me who are your favorites and why?

To make and have Legends, it helps to survive...

Survival is aided by knowledge...

Knowledge improves with science...

Honorable mention to texas booster and all of the other legendary Free Republic Folders Team members who donate computer power to the Stanford Folding@Home distributed computing project.

When you're not using your computers, graphics processors, or PlayStation 3 game machines for work, or play, or the serious business of FReeping, you can let Stanford University's Folding@Home project keep your systems busy performing scientific simulations for the ongoing study of the way proteins fold (or mis-fold).

Mis-folding proteins are thought to be a major factor, or even the cause, of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's, as well as certain cancers.

Billthedrill. Without him the FReeper Book Club on Atlas Shrugged would not have been a success.

I miss Tony Snow, although I never ‘spoke’ with him in person on FR (that I know of)—wasn’t his nick “Snowman”? Not sure.

School of Rational Thought. His communication skills are only surpassed by his insight. He is, indeed the most interesting man in the world. ;-)

All the people who keep and maintain the ping lists. That’s a lot of work and keeps all the best threads right where you can get them.

And the Viking Kittie Fearless Leaders!

SunkenCiv posts great archaeology threads.

JoeProBono is another of my favorites. He posts interesting, positive threads.

Even though we agree on little, Quix has always been pleasant to me even in the face of my mockery of UFOs.

I also miss SheLion's threads.

There are many other FReepers that I miss, as well.

With so many very intelligent, passionate, patriotic Freepers to choose from, I think it’s difficult to single out one or even a few.

YaYa123.

She must have had a photographic memory. I would watch a show, write down stuff I heard, missed something, then she would fill in the blanks.

I miss her:(

My favorites are:

holdonnow (Mark Levin): smart, tough, and funny. His insights are principled and realistic, and always takes into account the legal/constitutional point of view.

Conservativegreatgrandma: she is a smart, savvy fighter that gets her points across very well.

Victoria Delsoul: she also consistently argues for policy based on conservative principles as well as practical concerns, is a witty and smart poster, and very pretty to boot.

I like all of the Freeper species. It's a blast to be around so many intelligent beings.

I even like the trolls. The best entertainment you can find free on the web.

1998, was a great year for Free Republic. One of the biggest and best news place on the Internet.

Thanks for those who have passed on:
MKO, Chief Negatiator, Angelique, Lady X, Mr. Confettiman, Tony Snow, Common Tator. and all others who are no longer with us.

Thanks to Yellow Rose of Texas for starting all those threads.

To all those DC Freepers who went to the White House to protest on Saturday Mornings. Mr. Confettiman and Kristinn many thanks for getting that group together.

Thanks for the years, Jeff Head and a big thanks to Jim for the site that kept so many of us informed. As for entertainment we cannot leave out: Clinton's a Liar, Ash, Eschoir, and Mr. Thompson, who knew everything.

To: Constitution Day; martin_fierro; Petronski; Eaker; humblegunner; Squantos; Allegra; CougarGA7; ...

martin_fierro and Constitution Day for their sick senses of humor

Petronski and humblegunner because they are major badasses who don’t have any quit in them.

Eaker and Squantos who blow things up on purpose and not.

Allegra because I’m one of the 5 FReepers who actually saw the original SOCKS thread

And CougarGA7 because we’ve terrorized the same workplace for almost a decade, and now he’s going to greener pastures.

And I’d click on any post by Laz just see what he says.

I know I’ve missed so many folks here who make it all worthwhile.
