I cherish the anonymous woman freeper that took a campaign sign of Peter Fitzgerald's, (the former Republican US Senator from IL) and wrote the url for Free Republic on the back of it, and held it high for all too see at Senator Elect, Peter Fitzgerald's campaign victory party in Schaumburg, IL, in Nov., 1998. I lurked for 2 years, serving my apprenticeship, before registering in the year 2000. Thank you anonymous freeper woman. I never learned of her freeper identity, but she's my favorite for the reason mentioned.

That was back in the day when html code left open (in a post) would wreck havoc on a thread. Lot's of Lucianne friendlies came over to the freep side.
