Something is really wrong at ND. I've been following college football for a long time. ND has nearly unlimited money. They have there own broadcast TV network, NBC. They get BCS games they don't deserve which brings in huge amounts of money. The got slaughtered by Oregon State, Ohio State, and LSU in BCS bowl games that they never should have been invited to in the first place. They lost 8 straight bowl games-not because they didn't deserve to be in a bowl game but because they were getting BCS or other high ranking bowl games they didn't deserve.

They get special treatment from the NCAA and the Sports Media. This is outrageous and I think something ought to be done about it.

Even with all the problems at ND, they get a top ten recruiting class EVERY YEAR and they still are under performing. How do you go 6-6 with all that talent? They've been through 3 coaches now.

Anyone got any thoughts on what's wrong at the Golden Dome?

Hope they never win another game ( apology to Rockne—Leahy—Parsegian —Holtz)

Inviting Obama did it for me —until then I rooted for the Irish

I suspect they will join the Big Ten to make 12 teams in the conference. Their “independent” strategy isn't working.

Colin Coward, of ESPN Radio, was working for a Portland (OR) radio station when ND played Oregon State in the Fiesta Bowl several years ago. He said that when the two teams ran on the field to warm up, he called his friends and told them to bet big on Oregon State. Said you could just tell that Oregon State was much bigger, faster, and stronger than ND.

That OSU team had two first round defensive ends, a couple of other NFLers on defense and T. J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson at wide receiver.

Oregon State won 40-9.

I read an article that Kelley demanded Notre Dame change some (unfortunately unspecified in the article) things that hampered recruiting ability.

Anyhow I feel bad for the Bearcats players and fans. If Texas had missed that field goal they would be in the “National Championship” game, would Kelley still have decided to leave?

He built a good program there.
