Disturbing and true. Black people are about 12% of the American population, but 35% of the victims of abortion. In any other life-or-death situation, this kind of fatal "disparate impact" would rightly be termed genocidal.

But it's "everybody." Girls and young women of all races, even in good Christian families, seek abortions because they're in college or in an entry-level job and don't want their accomplishments to get off-track or their lives to veer into unknown detours because of untimely childbearing. Or they abort because they don't want to bring shame to their godly, respectable parents via an unmarried pregnancy: a pastor's daughter once told me that.

And the global-crisis-population-is-bad crowd always has in the back of their minds that baby-rejection of the most cruel and bloody-handed sort is virtuous. It's "for the planet."

It's all based on lies.

God save us, God restore our souls!

I appreciate your correction. I had honestly thought that 35% figure was much higher.

I do want to clarify one image that I may have conveyed without meaning to. I wasn’t trying to cast Blacks as any worse than other people for having abortions. As you say, a cross section of the populace has them, and I’m not here to point out any group that is worse than the rest as far as guilt is concerned.

Yes, may God restore our souls as a society.
