For All The Cat~People Of Amy's Place
Winter Wonderland
All the trees are bare and I think that I know why!
Sudden cold and very strong winds sent countless leaves into the sky
Causing them to tumble and swirl as they silently spiraled to the ground
To create an oddly dry and slippery ocean covering the ground
That sighs and crinkles and crunches with the most attractive sounds
Which surely will bring out countless Little Ones to rake up towering mounds
Only to be scattered hither and yon with laughing, delightful bounds
Yet the Little Ones are unaware of a much more wonderful delight
Tunneling beneath the thickly layered leaves while remaining out of sight
Then listening very patiently for when the moment will be just right
To pop up very quickly and surprise the bundled up, wide eyes dears
For a lingering moment of gentle rubs under my chin and between my ears!
