indy, if a crime happened then it’s by definition a public matter, and becomes the public’s business. Maybe nobody cares, but that’s not to say it’s not the public’s business. All matters of criminal law are the public’s business.

I was amused a while back when Spitzer prefaced his famous press conference with “I want to briefly address a private matter.’ Even a first year law student knows that matters of criminal law are not a ‘private matter.’

The state has to prove a crime has been committed. You don’t have to help them...

Ah, but you left out the importance of Spitzer. He was a Governor and had the power to affect the lives of others.

Woods may have money but he has no power to affect your life or mine.

This would normally be a local accident report. Now imagine if Woods lost his money fell on hard times and this happened. It would hardly get the time of day. Truth is, people would say “ that poor old Tiger, his life is a mess”

Yawn, now what bowling champ has cheated on his wife today”?
