The waiting continues with Woods (Tiger and wife refuse to meet with Police Investigators)
MyWay ^ | 29 Nov 09 | FRED GOODALL

Moments after pulling out of his driveway in the middle of the night, Tiger Woods drove his SUV over a fire hydrant and into a tree, causing injuries that sent him to the hospital to be treated.

The investigation of that mysterious crash has moved much more slowly.

Woods added to the suspense Saturday when for the second straight day, the world's No.1 golfer was unavailable to speak to the Florida Highway Patrol. State troopers are looking for answers about the accident in which the Windermere police chief said Woods' wife, Elin, used a golf club to smash out a rear window and help him get out.

Police first went to his $2.4 million house inside the gates of Isleworth on Friday, only for Woods' wife to ask if they could return the next day because he was sleeping.

As they headed to Woods' house Saturday afternoon, FHP dispatch put through a phone call to troopers from Woods' agent, informing them that Woods and his wife would be unavailable to talk until Sunday.

"I don't know what was said," Sgt. Kim Montes, the patrol spokeswoman, said Saturday. "I mean, (Friday) we understood, and that's kind of normal. It is unusual that we haven't gotten a statement. This just delays us to getting closer to the completion of the investigation."

Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, did not respond to a text message asking why Woods was unavailable.

Sunday could deliver two bits of information - what Woods has to say about the accident or perhaps the 911 tapes that FHP said it would release once authorities have reviewed the call.

_______________Snip

The silence has only fueled speculation of what happened, why Woods left the house at that hour, where he was going....

I bet you comment on FR threads all day, and then deny it.

I am not deciding what you can be interested in. Tell me how your life is so much better from making the Woods family your business? In otherwards, who cares?

Otherwise, enjoy. I am sure when we all know the truth, we can move on to the next alledged personal scandal the media focuses on.

There is a million such stories in the naked city. And yet, we focus on this one because it involves a celebrity whose life, we think, belongs to us. After all, we, some of us anyway, live our miserable desperate lives through the lives of celebrities. We just have to know what went on in Tiger’s bedroom!

I have a question...is what goes on in a public street the public’s business?

Does a gated community make it a public street? (even though public tax dollars pay for it).

First, I'm not interested in his family, I'm interested in the COVERUP of an ostensibly "innocent accident" that has lots of contradictory evidence. Conspiracies-of-silence and attempts to avoid the law always interest me, sue me.

But here's some free PR advice for Tiger: if you don't like the public scrutiny, then get the hell out the public eye - get a simple day-job in an office, and stop being the most-well-paid athlete in human history. And stop the lies and evasions that make you look guilty.

If he's not preparted to do that, then accept that public scrutiny - sometimes kind, sometimes not - is part of the territory.

I don't think that's exactly it. Public figures invite the public at large into their lives, to an extent. It's easy to accept the upside of that in good times, but that interest lingers during the bad times, too. It's too late to cry foul at that point - the public is just continuing it's interest. They are the guest who is still invited in.

That being said, Tiger seems more private than most public figures, I will grant him that. But you can't blame the public for continuing to be interested in his life, when he and his publicity people opened the door initially.

I had to read your post twice because at first I thought you were saying they had charged the NEIGHBOR with a crime! Glad to see that wasn't the case.

Here in Arizona we have a "Stupid Driver Law." (It's really called that.) During a rainstorm, we have these sudden flash floods that come up. If you ignore the warning signs ("Do not enter when flooded") and you get stuck and the police have to rescue you from your vehicle, you get charged. So maybe it's something like that where you live. I think the cops can do whatever they want when alcohol is involved.

If you find it so uninteresting, then why are you commenting?

I dunno about him but I'm just trying to run up my reply total.

I've posted a total of 3,614 threads and 24,704 replies.

Oops, it's 24,705 now.

I find it VERY difficult to believe that not a single officer who was on the scene early Friday morning didn't suspect a DV situation then. FHP has some explaining to do, IMHO.

I agree with you, however, the situation is probably similar to the Ft Hood nutty psychiatrist case. Had proper action been taken, the public safety would have been defended while the PC police would have hung out legitimate authority to dry. The same people here who assert one should never talk to legitimate authority, would then use the law enforcement to further justify their perspective that one should not work with legitimate authority.

In essence, rejecting legitimate authority in favor of independent means is merely a rebellion for recognizing legitimate authority.

Compare the Mob and how communities allow it to be established without formal public recognition. It is simply ignored and not reported to legitimate authority, thereby giving it more power to further corrupt society.

The same happens here by refusing to discriminate legitimate behavior from illegitimate behavior, then encouraging silence.

“Woods better watch it. The public will forgive his adultery - that is just the way our society is today. They will not forgive obstruction of a police investigation, or lying to the cops.”

I’ve never been a fan of Mr. Woods due to his temper outbursts on the golf course, and his reputation for being mean to unimportant people.

But I can’t see what he can possibly have done wrong in this matter aside from his driving. His wife apparently attacked him, and he backed off instead of retaliating. Now he is keeping his mouth shut to the police to protect his spouse, which is his right in all 50 states, isn’t it? He’s starting to look like a real gentleman to me.

Elin Woods may be in trouble for attacking Tiger, and making a false statement to the police.

Good thing Tiger is a world renowned golfer rather than a world renowned hunter. She might have used a different weapon.

Where did they break the law here? Unless Tiger wants to press charges on his wife, what did they do but have an argument and an accident? I am sure he will be made to pay for damages done. I suppose if people sit back and wait to see if he wants to charge his wife, then people will know.

I do not see who it will be to press charges here if no drugs or alcohol was involved.

So where is the big story? Tiger Woods is just a professional golfer. He does well because he plays well. Except for having money, he is like many other people.

Now, if this was a story about the Obama’s, I would be all over it. They have the power to affect all of our lives.

What the hell do they mean “refuse” to meet with Police investigators????? Would they buy the fact that I told them at the door that my husband was SLEEPING and could they please come back? I like Tiger and don’t know the details HOWEVER, he SHOULD have to meet with investigators just the same as any of us would. How outrageous.

If everything is as simple and innocent as you say, why are they still avoiding the police?
