Why do you consider a discussion of the concept of biblical allegory to be an attempt to “discredit” the bible?
The pi=3 argument is hardly “lame”. It is inarguable (successfully, anyway), and it is but the simplest example to present.
Not much it doesn't. I've seen enough that I don't wonder any more.
