Interesting note, “filthy rags” is literally translated “used menstrual cloths”. Really brings home the image of how God views our works, doesn’t it?

ROFL. Resty, ROFL. That isn’t women’s lib chatter, dear. In fact, in the ancient world, only women were allowed to speak of it in public, men were not. Isaiah’s use of it would have been considered scandalous at the time of writing. But because of Isaiah’s use, the term was only used while reading Isaiah, not outside of it.

Why does that vivid description of the statud our own righteousnesses before God so upset you?
