Buck, if you are indeed involved in some scientific endeavor, which I highly doubt as you've NEVER answered anyone's inquiries that I've ever seen, I certainly hope that nobody's life depends on your judgment and problem solving capabilities.
Such is the outcome when you really want to find some way to discredit Scripture and twist it to fit your worldview.

LOL, doubt that the lurkers will agree with you on that point. OTOH, one like you who is ignorant of science will accept pseudoscience arguments against the bible every time. But in this case you are challenged by even reading the context and description of the item. For example:
26. And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.
The brim flared out - so where smart guy was the diameter measured from? Accordingly, where was the circumference measured at? Unless you can specifically show where these precise measurements were taken you claim falls flat on its face. But then pi = 3.14 is an approximation itself isn't it.
So is the rim the same location that the circumference was measured at? (crickets) I typed it real slow for you to follow along this time.

Just because it is uncomfortable does not make it only “their opinion”. Pratts works were considered to be scripture long before the D&C was cannonized and voted on (1870’s IIRC).
The leaders either can or cannot lead the church astray. If they cannot, then their official statements should be binding, if they can then they are not “speaking for the Lord”.
It has always bugged me that things that were once considered doctrine of a “restored” church (blacks and the priesthood, wording and oaths of the Temple ceremonies, polygamy; the Adam/God doctrine) can suddenly no longer be binding.
What about all those who died believing they MUST enter polygamy for exaltation or that Adam was God? Do they still get to the CK? Because they accepted what is now considered false doctrine.
