I had an interesting discussion with my wife the other night. We were both curiouis as to why radio talk show people such as Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity, do not promote or talk about Glenn Beck.
I went to their various web sites and checked out what they recommend to read. It was interesting.
Limbaugh - no Beck books.
Levin - no Beck books.
Hannity - no Beck books.
Coulter - no Beck books.
Ingraham - one Beck book.
My wife and I came to the conclusion that the reason he is being shunned by the powers that be is due to his aligning himself with O'Reilly. I also think that maybe they are cautious. Is Beck really a conservative or is he just doing what he is doing to make a buck and a name.
I know Limbaugh talked with him once on Beck's program - via phone - and Levin lambasted him for his stance on McCain. Other than that, they do not seem to want to associate with him.
I would be curious as to what other Freeper's think.
Beck-Rush has a good professional relationship I Think
Beck-Levin. Levin has an disagreement with Beck
Beck is a pro-war Libertarian and he supports Ron Paul and Sarah Palin. He is shun by some Libertarians because of his pro-war stance
I’m very much a pro-war Libertarian as well and I like both Ron Paul and Sarah Palin. I believe we could reach a compromise. I believe in withdrawing all troops everywhere, except Afghanistan. We could use the savings on the only country that matter
Thank you for your service. Thank you for the lecture.
>>>why radio talk show people such as Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity, do not promote or talk about Glenn Beck
At some point Beck will self-destruct. He’ll either get careless on some accusation, fall into some prepared trap, or more likely just push a line too far. When he careens off the cliff there is little to be gained by being pulled down as well.
Limbaugh was very nearly destroyed over his addiction. Prejean crashed and burned with her videos. If there is a chink in the armor it will eventually be found. And Beck just doesn’t strike me as sufficiently self-disciplined to keep all bases covered over the long haul.
I have listened to RUSH for twenty plus years... talk is cheap and he has actually accomplished very little of lasting value. Yes RUSH TALKS and COMPLAINS and RIDICULES but that is it... NOTHING happens except for making people more upset and frustrated than they already are.
O'REALY... lets see... oh yes "The Culture Quiz" and ranting about child molesters... that's brave, in the mean time he makes multitudes of excuses for Obama, his administration, etc...that is going to make a lasting mark... NOT.
The difference between BECK and every one else out there is the fact that while entertaining, HE IS A GENUINE JOURNALIST who researches his material, exposes the truth. He does not just complain and rant about it... MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL he provides concrete actions that can be taken to mobilize Americans to hold people accountable and to take ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is something RUSH never does (except possibly for the 1994 elections).
I may be wrong but that is what I see and believe to be the difference. The reason why the competition is not promoting him is because GLEN IS NOT MEARLY A "talk show host", HE IS MAKING A REAL DIFFERENCE! Heads have and will continue to roll as a direct result of what Glen Beck is doing... SEIU is now in his sights and Glen is turning up the heat BIG TIME. As for the rest; RUSH will parody Obama, talk football and golf; Hannity will rant and rail along with his supposed "Great American Panel" while accomplishing nothing, O'Realy will continue to waste broadcast time promoting himself, his "No Spin" (Right, what a joke) junk, holding useless "Culture Quizzes", and going after "soft targets" (child molesters, a few useless judges, etc) while totally ignoring the 1 million pound gorilla in the living room.
Remember: "Talk is CHEAP" and "ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS"! The reason why Glen is going to overtake them all is because Americans are tired of talk without action! The time for cheap talk is O V E R. America is right at the precipice of being destroyed from within and only decisive ACTION from an organized and well informed American public taking a stand for the VALUES and PRINCIPLES that made our nation great will suffice and that is what Glen Beck is doing both on the radio and TV.
My prediction:
Fox will NOT hire Lou Dobbs. Lou Dobbs committed the unpardonable sin of questioning Obama’s natural born status. Fox has been threatened, blackmailed, or bribed into complete silence on this issue.
It would soon sound just like the Dems, who all use the same talking points. They receive talking points by a FAX so they will all use the same words.
It then sounds like the propaganda that it is.
One of Glenn's listeners clued him in to the disclaimer agreement one signed on to when he visited the Cash For Clunkers site, according to Judge Napalitano, NOT Glenn Beck, you DID turn your computer over to federal government agencies, not only your own files on your computer, but if you were networking, family connections, those files as well were accessible by our government AND foreign agents connected. There was discussion about how many people who worked in these car places had a tendency to bring their work, their computer home with them, they were exposing their own family private files unknowingly. The disclaimer, the wording itself, was changed by Washington after Glenn exposed it on his radio and TV programs.
The business with The View was debunked by Andrew Breitbart himself, those nags accused Glenn of lying to his face when he appeared as a guest on their show, they demonstrated they learned no manners from their mothers. It was not Behar, it was Walters and Goldberg, and Breitbart, by making a whole two telephone calls proved that it was Walters and Goldberg who had done the lying about that whole stupid train station business, not Glenn. Beck demanded public apology -- as far as I'm aware, he has yet to receive one.
Glenn has stepped in nothing. This kind of stuff is why people who criticize Glenn come off sounding like sour grapes, the same as Mark Levin, who falsely charged Glenn of drafting. If you wish to know, truly, put in the time and listen for yourself. Otherwise, don't speculate without having your facts in order, it's unfair and unwise.
Dobbs didn't exactly say "no" to O'Reilly last evening when asked if he would run for a NJ senate seat.
He does have a large media following and is far more conservative than CNN cares for. As such, IF he shows up on FOX, it may cause a re-allignment of the other folks on that station. Should be fun to watch if it does happen.
He was more conservative than CNN would rather him be, but I still don't get if he shows up on FOX how or why that would cause re-alignment. Are you suggesting Dobbs presence would turn the station more conservative? I don't see that at all. In fact as far as pundits go, I'd put him in the Geraldo camp at FOX. Give them a show together and call it "Stuffy Old Moustache".
I like your answer. There have been a couple of others with good answers on this thread. Others feel the need to lecture or insult. I look them up and they seem to follow the same pattern - impressive resumes which probably gives them the need to believe themselves above others.
I don't need lectures. I am just trying to start a conversation.
Getting back to your post, I also want to comment that I like what Rush is doing lately. As FNC gets more and more viewers, he is "appearing" more on different FNC programs - via phone, of course. I see this as part of a strategy to spark the curiousity of new viewers and have them tune into his program.
I question if Beck is as much a conservative as a rabble rouser.
I would be curious as to what other Freeper's think.I don't own a think. However, I do think, therefore I am conservative. :)
The talk earlier was that Levin thinks Beck has stolen some of his ideas.
Both spread by meanies
>> the story he broke about logging into the Cash for Clunkers site - stating that the government can basically take over your PC. I heard he was wrong on that.<<
Silly. Even Glenn is technically savy enough to know that you would have to install software, or perhaps get a nasty virust to do this.
>>he said something about Joy Behner from the View - about speaking with her at the train station. I heard it did not happen like he said it did.<<
It was Barbara Walters and Whoopi. They admitted they were there, but denied that they had reserved seats, on a train that doesn’t reserve seats. It was later proven, and admitted by AmTrack that they did in fact reserve seats for certain people and had asked Glenn to move because those seats were reserved for ‘important people’.
The bottom line is, you can trust his facts, because he triple checks them due to the opposition sending teams to fact check him.
While I agree and appreciate your points about action and making a difference, I will take one exception to your post, and it’s an important one: Glenn Beck is not a journalist, by his own admission. Big difference there, neither he nor I are just parsing, splitting hairs.
You asked for examples. I gave you two. You proved me wrong - by lecturing. I am thankful for your information. I just wish that people can answer without the superiority complex and without a lecture.
Again, thank you for providing me with good info.
>>The talk earlier was that Levin thinks Beck has stolen some of his ideas.<<
Good point, he may have borrowed some ideas.
He’s just better at ‘packaging’ and selling the idea. Look at Microsoft, they didn’t invent the Mouse, or even Windows for that matter. They just figured out a way to sell it.
Why won’t anybody but Levin talk about Michael Savage?
What are you talking about and why are you responding with someone else’s comment linked to my original? Hell I’ve moved on....I’ve already thought the thought and now am thinking other thoughts...how’s that.
Levin's sour grapes, aided and abetted by his friend Hannity, as I said earlier, they have a problem with the ratings, sales factors. Glenn didn't get anything from Levin, he got his video from Breitbart and the legal analysis of same from Judge Napolitano.
Beck’s message is fine - and he’ll prove himself in time - or not. For now, tt’s the message that matters - not the messenger.
