I got Bibles from the Witnesses. I got a red shopping bag with election propaganda from the Dems.

The Witnesses want to have a "session" with me; the Democrats want my vote.

What I don't get is that the Dems had to know I was a Republican. They had already been here. There's sign on my lawn! So they knew I couldn't be saved, the Witnesses thought I could be!

Just watching NFL Network and this weekend marks the 10 year anniversary of Walter Payton’s passing. At halftime there was a special presentation of his family......

So in the same week 10 years ago we lost Sweetness and Payne Stewart. WOW!!!
Where does the time go?

Lifelong. Saw the first game they ever played. For some reason there is some a-hole statement following that. Do you have a whole wardrobe of Yankee clothes? I actually know people who do.

Whole wardrobe? No. One ‘Hoodie’ and about 1 1/2 dozen shirts and 2 caps. I wear them to work at every opportunity because believe it or not(gasp!) there aren’t many Yankee fans at USMA ;-)

No sarcasm from me and I love it that some Mets fans are rooting for the Phils vs the Yankees.

Ummmm is he from around my parts? Orange/Dutchess county. Please don’t say yes because I might have dated him at one time...lol.

I am a loyal, rabid fan, but I like to wear regular clothes from time to time ;-)

I DETEST the Yankees, but you gotta admire their ability to market. I read somewhere that if you go over to Europe and see some guy wearing a Yankees cap, chances are he wouldn’t be able to tell you their second baseman. But if the guy is wearing a mets, phillies, etc. cap, the chances are better he’ll actually know the team. The Yanks are basically a brand.

By the way, I actually hope the Mets are better next year. This year they were decimated by injuries, but I think it’s funner when the Mets and Phils battle it out.

What I was trying to state that me being a typical Phillie fan for almost 50 years, since I was old enough to understand the game, knows STINK when I see it and we are seeing it.

I know this team had a good run and all and I love these guys to death and we are all human, you know the usual excuses but when you play the Yanks you need to bring your best game and the Phils haven't done that. You can't rely on miracles against the Yanks.

Two examples:

Game two, Burnett throwing fat first pitch strikes, did the Phils adjust no they just stood there looking at the first pitch getting behind in the count, you'd think by the 3rd inning they would have figured this out. Yeah the Phils can break a pitcher with patience and a good eye but that was not the time, they should have challenged him because he's know to be wild. What's a matter Charlie?

Tonight: Rollins and Victorino first and second, no outs, a tiring Sabathia and did they try any base running, no. Two of the fastest runners in baseball and they sat there waiting for the homeruns. Big innings don't happen like that.

You’re right about the brand. My own father, who has never watched an entire ball game in his life (more of a fisherman hunter guy) claims to be a Yankee fan. Why? He remembers the Babe and Dimagio (sp?). He has no idea of the rules or strategy of baseball. Most Yankee fans I know are the same, but the fact that they win makes their lives feel better.
