if bowling is not a sport, how can sitting up in a stand and shooting down onto a feed trough be considered a sport.

For your list....
I have a picture from the Dad of the hunter that shows that he was able to spine this monster from 44 yards....
However, the picture is on the work computer.
If you’re interested, I’ll post the proof tomorrow.

I wonder what type bow this fellow used? A compound bow, a recurve, self bow? A great shot especially since the deer was starting to move away. Once in a lifetime deer.

They call that a "rack"? I call that a
brush pile! Pope & Young is going to be busy next year. A record buck was also taken in Wisc. this year.

In our younger years, Husband and I each used to shoot competitive bow. It was a blast.
I don’t think I could pull back for love or money these days, but he got a big old Tom turkey last season with his crossbow. That was some fine shootin’! :)
And this guy deserves all the accolades he’s getting...and then some. :)

That really is a buck of a lifetime! Certainly fires me up to get in a tree this afternoon in some miserable weather. Since he was hunting from an elevated position, isn’t it possible that the ‘high’ shot is the entrance wound and that the angle could have actually made this a vitals shot?

Well, count me green with envy. That’s a dandy buck; a once in a lifetime monster. I’ve been chasing the deer for 29 seasons now...one of these days I may get my chance at one like that. Or not. :)
I took a nice doe Oct. 11 with my bow and have let many deer walk away before and since, including an 8-pointer with about a 14” spread. Been waiting for a big one like that to walk by, plus, I enjoy sitting out there sharing nature with the critters so I don’t want my season to end to soon. I could have filled both my tags by the second Saturday of the season, but what fun would that be?
I’ve put in a lot of time out there this season already, and the hunting hours are getting shorter each day, leaving me less time to hunt in the evenings. After this weekend, the first nice-sized deer that gives me a shot is going down to fill my second tag, be it a buck or a doe.
