That is amazing. I don't think I've ever seen deer swimming or actually in water other than at water's edge, having a drink.
I'm a wee bit jealous of your pleasant weather. We're still in the midst of an unusually early heat wave and would enjoy a few weeks of cooler weather. A trip to the nearby beaches seems a bit futile at this point. :( I'm thinking of heading to the hills around NC or upper east TN where I know the weather is nicer at this time of the year.

Best.
Summers.
Anywhere.
Come visit, you'll be stunned.
Yeah, it was a shocker seeing them. At first Linda kept saying there was some kind of wounded fish, then I took the binocs out and saw the antlers. They were going pretty fast considering they were dog deer paddling.
The weirdest part was some dog came down as they were getting near shore, and they wouldn't come out with it barking. They were stuck between boat motors and a barking dog.
They finally decided they were too tired NOT to get out, thank goodness. They booked fast into the woods. I think they're gonna sleep well tonight.......

Those weren’t deer, those were two giant beavers!
I tied racks to their heads to confuse you. Looked like you fell for it. Punk’d! :P
To: derllak; Darlin'
*Ahem* That would be marmot(s).
Certain words have been declared verboten............
I might have been fooled by other kinds of racks though......

No beaves allowed?
Where will I go??
What will I do?? :P
To: Lakeshark
The poor things. They knew the potential danger of encountering a riled up dog, the boat motors were an unknown entity. LOL
I've been thinking of going to Kiawah Island for a couple of weeks but the heat is beginning to make a trip to the mountains with cooler, non-humid nights sound mighty appealing.

I know I’m walking into a minefield, but I’ll bite.
What’s a Vorpal Chipmunk?
I’ll have you know I looked up vorpal and there ain’t no sucha word, Darks. Is that Klingon? :P

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

I’ve been around; just not the best company lately. Been working my butt off....we won’t even discuss the issues there. Spent a little time getting reaquainted with with my rather extensive family when one of my uncles passed away. Trying to keep the yard in good enough shape that the neighbors don’t complain about what might be lurking there. Also trying to do a little housecleaning; getting ready for Tyler’s visit (as of yesterday, I am now the grandmother of a teenager....how the h*ll did that happen?), followed by my summer trip to Colorado. And of course, catering to my cats (or is that owners?). Do a little shopping on Ebay. Trying to plot an escape route.

I admit that I stole the word from one Lewis Carroll, specifically his work “Jabberwocky”.
