Our local PBS station broadcasts that concert from time to time. Some truly great performances by some legends in music. Always did like Roy Orbison. Miss him.

My personal favorite of his, and I believe one of the best albums of all time, was his last album, "Mystery Girl", released after his death. I still recall the first time I heard the title track. I did not recognize it immediately as Roy, thinking it sounded too much like U2, I later found out that track was produced by Bono.

I absolutely hated the lyrics in that song. What, just because I’m a pretty woman walking by a bus stop, I owe you a good time??? And then I saw a photo of Ray Orbison, and I hated the song even more!

"Roy Orbison and Friends - Black and White Night (1987)", 5 STAR ratings, is great in HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, (and a home stereo sound system)...I have rented the HD-DVD and plan on buying the DVD..

1964 found me achingly and hopelessly in love. Crying and Running Scared were two of the best ever.

Roy Orbison: Black and White Night. It should be in every fan’s collection.

I’ve heard some studio demos Orbison did — he did a cover of “Unchained Melody” that is amazingly haunting. The only drawback is that as it was only a demo, he didn’t go for the high note, but marked it down an octave...
