Machete-wielding man hit in head with wood post at bar (hold my beer alert)

Wichita police were investigating an aggravated assault Sunday involving a man who they say carried a machete into a bar.
The man had been asked to leave the bar at 604 S. Topeka. He left, but returned 15 minutes later carrying a machete and threatening people, said Sgt. Jim Bratt, spokesman for the Wichita police department.
Someone in the bar grabbed the man's hand while another struck him in the head with a large wooden post, Bratt said.
The man was hit in the head several times. He was taken by EMS to Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital.
