The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that New Line (a division of Warner Bros.) is developing a sequel to the Vacation franchise.
There have been four movies (and a made-for-TV movie entitled Christmas Vacation 2).
This new film would apparently focus on Rusty Griswold, who is now a father himself, as he takes his family on a road trip vacation.
For the love of God, New Line, please bring original Rusty actor Anthony Michael Hall back! Otherwise, I want no part of this movie.
This got me to thinking though: What is your favorite Vacation movie?
Internet debate is fierce. Most think it is either the original Vacation, or the third movie in the series, Christmas Vacation.
Both movies actually have the same user rating of 7.3 on IMDB.com.
So which is better? My opinion is that Christmas Vacation is a good movie, but its just not on the same level as the original.

i’m thinking the first, but only because of lindsey buckingham’s song “holiday road”.
First. Then the second.
Christmas Vacation.
Huh???
European Vacation!! By far!!!
Those scenes in London, Germany and Italy are hilarious. Every time I see a round-about I think of the Griswolds circling one in London all day trying to get out!
Same here. What would the next generation station wagon from hell look like?
“...There isn’t anything on that tape that shouldn’t be there... You erased it?...”
yep, 50 yards
The first is my favorite. Christmas Vacation is a close second.
Every Vacation movie has different actors for Rusty and Audrey. Rusty is always the voice of reason for Clark.
What is your favorite Vacation movie?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Christmas Vacation is my favorite.
It is a family tradition to watch it every Christmas. I love that scene where Chevy Chase goes into that long string of insults and curses ending with “bag of monkey s***t!” My second favorite scene is the Christmas tree crashing through the window of Margo and Ted.
One of these two:
Christmas vacation is an all time classic, but I love Euopean Vacation too.
The Game show scene is hoot—”be a pig! Be a pig!!” Dana Hill was my favorite Audrey. RIP Dana. When they were in Germany was also one of the funniest. The old couple and the beer fest were great.
1. Christmas Vacation
2. Vegas Vacation
3. European Vacation
4. Vacation
