Scientists have discovered craters in Mars filled with almost pure water ice with the help of UA technology and say they are hopeful that this discovery will lead to possible missions there for astronauts.
The High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment, or HiRISE, comprises a team of UA scientists who operate the high-resolution camera that captured the images of ice on Mars surface from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
UA's role was really key, said Shane Byrne, member of the HiRISE team and assistant professor of planetary sciences at the Lunar and Planetary Sciences Laboratory, the lab HiRISE calls home.

The 9,367 claim of water, thus far, not a one has been true (and even if it was it means nothing)
Must be budget time at NASA. They always talk about water on Mars. Nonsense.
Pure water ice spontaneously creates life.
Whod'a thought?
Water on another world = life on another world. Blah blah blah.
The vapor pressure of water on Mars really precludes much of it being anywhere on the planet. It would have diffused and been gone long ago.
Luddites out in force tonight.
Life on other planets, in other galaxies, etc.?
I say if they are there let them find us. If they don’t have the technology necessary for extended space travel then they probably don’t have anything we need. The last thing we need to do is find some poor planet somewhere that will stroke the heartstrings of liberals who will want us sending aid to them. We have enough aid seekers right here on Earth.
If ‘they’ want to talk with us, let it be on their dime!
Not if it was solid (ice).
And we thought Ponce de Leon's journey to find the fountain of youth was a fool's errand. Man has spent billions searching for water other than on Earth in similar fashion to poor Ponce.
