Dan Fuchs is a local businessman who set up a graphic arts kiosk at The Johnson City, Tennessee mall. Business was slow until a customer suggested he try selling stickers with the NoBama message. Business picked up and he expanded his line of 'anti-Obama' stickers.
Today, mall administration terminated Fuchs' lease after it began receiving complaints about the allegedly 'anti-Obama' merchandise. Fuchs said he also sold 'pro-Obama' stickers, but the mall administration felt he wasn't offering a fair balance between anti and pro Obama stickers.
In the video story on Channel 11's website, the mall spokeswoman inexplicably says that the mall asked Mr. Fuchs to sell more pro-Obama merchandise or risk termination! The local media interviewed Fuchs in the last day or so about the controversy. Thereafter, in obvious retaliation, the mall terminated Fuchs' lease.
You really need to follow the link and watch the video report of this story. The mall spokeswoman, again inexplicably, says that Fuchs told her he didn't vote for Obama and was appalled by some of the president's actions. Apparently, Mr. Fuchs is not allowed to feel that way and remain a merchant in the Johnson City, Tennessee Mall.
Does anyone want to guess what would've happened if, say, Fuchs began by selling Pro-Obama stickers and people lodged complaints with the mall? We would've been told to jump in a lake.
It is surprising when you watch the video report to see that Dan Fuchs is not some smart-mouthed young Republican, but an old man with three sons serving in Iraq. This story leaves me fuming.

Oops, in the original post I mistakenly wrote that Dan Fuchs had three sons serving in Iraq. That was apparently someone that complained to the mall administration about the stickers.
Bye bye, first amendment.
That’s the one that was set up to protect exactly this kind of free speech. This ain’t america no more, ok?
Thanks tg4w.
My guess is that the pro Obama stuff doesn't sell so well and the libs don't want people knowing that.
Very sad. I will make certain I stay away from any mall they own/manage.
It appears the Johnson City mall is owned by Glimcher Properties. They have several other malls we might not want to patronize:

It doesn't have to sell, it just needs to be on display. Like leftist talk radio, obamacare, or Ed Schultz; even though nobody asked for it and nobody wants it it's in their face anyway. Without enforced political correctness 24/7, the democrat party as a national issue would simply fade away.
