Got new blood work on Gypsy back today. Although her liver enzyme counts are still high, they had decreased enough that they could be read, whereas two months ago they were “off the charts”. She hasn’t developed anemia, and her protein levels are good. My western-medicine vet was more than a little stunned :)

So the lab results have shown the value of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of chronic liver disease. I don’t know how long they will continue working but we pretty much have our “old” Gypsy back to enjoy for as long as we can.

Good for Gypsy!

Miss Cat had been losing weight....she just stopped eating the prescription wet food. So I put her back on low-carb Fancy Feasts (the ones that don’t list “wheat gluten” on the label) and she’s gained some weight back. I told the vet tech who gives her fluids this....so far I haven’t been fussed at by the vet. Miss Cat will still eat the prescription dry food.
