Heh.

Say, I've been meaning to ask you. What's the architect software you and Claire were using?

I'm thinking it might be good for Luke.

We had Chief Architect 9, which is now Chief X2. That's not the one I learned, originally, though. I started off, about 10 years ago, with Broderbund's "3D Home Architect", which took some time to learn, and I mastered just about everything except roofs, which I'm STILL having trouble with in Chief. ;o) But it was a fun program to mess around with, and since it's several years old, you could likely find a used package pretty inexpensively.

Since the Chief program I got for Clare was an academic license, it wasn't TOO spendy; about $250. When I went to buy a new one for myself, I got a real sticker shock. The single license is over $1500! So I got Chief Architect X1Lite, and while it still does the same basic stuff, it certainly doesn't have all the capabilities of the updated equivalent to Clare's program. But to update my X1Lite to X2, it would still cost over $1000, and I just can't justify that. If I were in a job that required the use of it, maybe, but not right now.
