Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
First, thanks to PE for the tip about the sling loop/bottle opener for M1913 rails. It's the perfect accessory for my Battle Mug, even if I won't be using it on a real firearm.
The neatest part is that the laser still shoots through the slot cut in the part so the cap screw can clamp it to the rail. Open a bottle, or attach a sling, and the laser keeps on lasing.
Second, for all of you blade fans, an Indian reproduction of a WW1 British trench knife. The reproduction is rude and crude, but so were the originals. As opposed to a Swiss army knife, this one seems to have only one function.
The grip is comfortable in the hand, making use easier and more effective.
Robbins & Dudley went high-tech in a number of features. The handle and knuckle guard are smokeless-powder-age aluminum, while the blade is a cut-down surplus bayonet blade. I believe regular cutting, skinning, etc. are pretty much impossible, since nothing is sharpened except the very tip.
State and local knife laws are even more convoluted than gun laws, and many localities frown on daggers. But it would make a fine letter opener and conversation piece for your desk at work.
Nice addition to the blade armoury. The Indian iron mongery trade is sure cranking out the blades as well as flintlock and percussion lock sidearms and longarms these days.
I went ahead and put RainX on TheCar....I’m sure I’ve jinxed our rain chances.
No,not RainX!!! We need the rain so badly. They are saying highs in the low 70’s tomorrow, here’s hoping.
inbeforethenextpost!
Maybe I should have washed the car instead...
We could always leave the car windows partially open, that seems to work most of the time.
that is just too cool for words.
Mine is now on the way. :-)
*Sigh*
The RainX curse is in force.
‘sigh’ you’re right. OTOH - I got the side storm door fixed. So there is that. Even had the right sized bolts, nuts, lock washers, and screws to do it. Yea for keeping the odd bits of hardware over the years. OB
Wow, I’m impressed!
Maybe some day my odd hardware collection will amount to something.
The neighbor across the street is washing his truck. Maybe that’ll get it done.
One can hope....
I figure if it’s going to rain this week, it’ll be Sunday. We got a club shoot that day. :-)
Is it true that the Nagant revolver, the one with the gas-sealing cylinder, falls into a regulatory non-gun category that requires none of the Second-Amendment-Infringing permit and licensing requirements that plague us?
One inch in the rain gage when I got home this afternoon. We’re getting a steady enough rain right now to keep the Katz indoors.
You did a bit better; we got 0.8 but we’ll take it.
Well whatever managed to remain green has perked up.
Sure has cooled off nicely...the windows are open and the Katz are enjoying the morning air.
It was nice out this morning! We didn’t open any windows but did take the pups for a nice long walk. Aubrey loves to run, she and I did wind-sprints, maybe she’ll get me back into shape. Either that or give me a heart attack!
It’s supposed to be nicer tomorrow morning. I expect the Katz will pull an all-nighter tonight.
Teh Kittehs have started a cicada collection: there’s five dead ones in the sunroom.
