If I had a line judge call a second serve foot fault on me in a major semi I would have been pissed too (never mind the replays that don’t show the foot fault)! I don’t think Serena would have won, but its a terrible way to end the match. I love the tut tutting from Enberg in the box about poor sportsmanship when McEnroe (who I love) is sitting next to him LOL
My husband said that Serena said she could shove the racket down the line judge’s throat and I could kill you.
Yeah, there’s no replay that I’ve seen that shows it clearly. It’s just a sad way for Cluisters to win it. As they’ve said, it took all the joy out of her winning. Good luck to her in the final, though.
I’ve got it Tivo’d and I’ve watched it three times now. There is nothing I heard any of the three times that sounded anything like she said she would kill her.
The mics did not pic up everything....I tried listening....in vain.
I didn’t see it as a foot fault either, but it was close. Was she out of challenges, which is all she had to do? Regardless, she went at the linesperson not just once, but went at her twice.
I think this will qualify for a “Beer With The Messiah at the White House” night for Williams and the judge.
Oh well, too bad there it wasn’t taped. I’m sure others there or at least one person there had to have heard the exchange. Tomorrow more will be revealed. I’m sure Serena has learned her lesson though shooting her mouth off.
My BIL lives in MN. Talked to him today and he said the venue for BO's speech wasn't filling up so all week, calls were being made to liberal areas (HA! I guess that means ALL areas) trying to GIVE away tickets to The One's speech.

Idiot? Tennis was almost as popular as watching paint dry until he started his antics. He got people watching again and tennis has profited greatly since then.

Apparently, someone’s got better hearing than both of us. As I said in an earlier post, I’ve got it Tivo’d and have watched and listened closely three times. I heard nothing that sounded like she said she would kill her. It doesn’t really matter what she said though, as a code violation (her second in the match) is why and how she lost.
Ilie Nastase was the first. ...then Connors, THEN McEnroe.
Well perhaps the judge just threw that I could kill you in the mix to add a little drama!
