Today’s Mayan’s tell it a little differently. They claim they were a peace loving people until the indians from Mexico City showed up and that those other indians were the bloodthirsty lot.
The bend-em-over-to-extract-the-heart alters predate the Spanish. So they had to find bad indians to blame them on.

Stumbled across the National Geographic Channel on TV this weekend and the thought occurred -- their gods consist of:
- Al Gore -- gee, wonder why
- Dr. Jane Goodall -- she who serenely sits among chimp feces
- Dr. Robert Ballard -- this last appears to have a personal cameraman who follows him everywhere in order to document his every move/thought/reaction. "And then I said,..." "Wow! Look there...!" "And then I thought,..."
A shame that a formerly worthwhile magazine has sold its soul to pursue a hard green moonbat agenda.
