There’s an easy way to combat that.

Dip your flip-flops in bleach and water after everytime you go out to a public forum.

If not that, then wipe it down with Hydrogen Peroxide.

Are the people who are reporting these stories utterly and completely dumb to the many ways this can be taken care of?

The best way to prevent problems is to not wear the disgusting things in the first place. I can't understand why people want to put their ugly feet on display anyway.

I know, I wash my flip-flops regularly just to keep them looking nice. Who knew I was washing all those dangerous germs off them? That said, wouldn’t it be beneficial that I can wash them regularly, as opposed to my work sneakers that have to traipse through all sorts of public transportation and semi-public restrooms?

Although, they should’ve checked a college student’s flip-flops. Would they be cleaner than usual from being worn in the dorm shower every day, or have more nasty germs than usual from being worn in the dorm shower every day?
