I could never quite buy the story that Newey left Red Bull because of the fracas between Horner and his PA. Now formu1a.uno is writing that it was over the added air intakes (on halo & shark fin) that showed up at Japan. They claim they were done by Enrico Balbo (aerodynamics) and Pierre Wache (tech dir) without asking for Newey’s blessing. They thought the added cooling was necessary and Newey thinks they should train the engine to hold it’s breath until the race is over.
And Newey considered this a snub worthy of resigning over.
