There is relative unanimity in the blogosphere that Adrian Newey has submitted his written resignation to RBR, and that his lawyers are negotiating terms of his release.
His contract with RBR runs thru the end of 2026, and there’s a year’s “gardening leave” (non-compete agreement) after that, so Newey’s blood-sucking shysters will be keen to get those limits lifted. There is no consensus among the F1 press whether this is possible, but there sure are a lot of people cheering for him to go to Ferrari.
He supposedly spelled out why he’s leaving in his letter of resignation but all that’s leaked out is that his relationship with Horner is broken. If he’s leaving just because Horner refused to be bullied into leaving by F1’s Christine Balzy Fraud, I pray to heaven that she follows Newey wherever he goes, and she makes him her next victim.
Because the underlying plot to destroy Red Bull Racing, which now is almost assured of succeeding, will be the greatest sporting tragedy since Don King got inside Mike Tyson’s head and talked him into firing Bill Cayton and Kevin Rooney, transforming Tyson from best-ever to has-been in record time.
he should goto Audi...
Indeed, Red Bull have claimed six constructors’ titles and seven drivers’ titles – between Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen respectively – with Newey-designed cars to date, and they are currently on course to do the double again in 2024. However, it has now been confirmed in the build-up to the Miami Grand Prix that Newey will be departing from his Chief Technical Officer role in the first quarter of 2025.
