Isn’t a starting penalty a lot better than puking the trans when you’re in contention for the Championship?
seems like with few exceptions, McLaren has done nothing but step on it's own crank all season... as much as i hope he stays, i will understand if he leaves
it's always the money... and when that miserable dwarf Ecclestone starts pushing up the crabgrass, they'll have a hard time even keeping that alive as the stench of urine will be overpowering at 100yrds
We can only hope, maybe the only way many of us will be able to gain track time!

SCCA Nationals! I actually got interested in road racing by watching them one Christmas break from college. My parents had recently gotten a sat dish (one of the old school, huge ones), and I was transfixed watching about 2-3 hours straight.
Been a sports car fan ever since, which lead me to F1.
But to go to Mercedes? Seems like a drop in quality IMO. I could see if he went to Red Bull (not gonna happen) or Ferrari or even Lotus. Kimi and Hamilton on the same team? That would be pretty cool.
Though Grosjean has a lot of upside if he can control the mental mistakes.
Despite being a Chavez lackey, I’m actually most impressed with Maldonado this season. Yes he tends to punt other drivers off the track, but he has some sterling qualifying runs and races.
How long till I can root for an American in F1 though. Scott Speed was OK, but just not up to snuff.
i agree that it makes no sense at all, it will simply be for the money and loyalty be dammed... unfortunately i don't even see an American in the wings being groomed to make the move
Yeah I raced SCCA from 73 to 78.
Lots of fun for sure, very expensive hobby, quit when started having kids.
Awesome, I’m thinking of building up my old TR6 for SCCA. It will never be a show car, so I might as well have some fun with it.
Of course in the long-run it would probably be cheaper to go the show car route, but probably only 1/2 as much fun.

Hamilton right to move, say former stars
Lewis Hamilton has done the right thing in deciding to leave McLaren and join Mercedes.
That is the opinion of former world champion Damon Hill and former McLaren drivers David Coulthard and John Watson, who both agree that Hamilton was shackled at the Woking based team.
I’m far from a Hammy fan, but I agree. I think the move to MbZ is a step down, but I think his situation at McLaren was probably intolerable since Uncle Ron’s role changed.
