Remember I told some of you that I bought as many white petunias as I did the red ones. All of the white petunias died except one. Unexplainable!

Dave, I know how you love this. Well, I went back the next day to get you one and they didn't have any more. Only $3.00! Its on my patio and is about 12" by 6"....sorry!


We have 3 Dollar Stores in my city. Dollar General, Family Dollar and the Dollar Tree! I found this little tin pitcher at Family Dollar and found the flowers at the Dollar General. I was afraid it would be tacky but know what? I loved it! LOL! My son said if I bought it at the Florist, it would cost $25.00...think he was trying to make me feel good?

Well, you can wake up now...the show is over! Just in case you want to know, it took me forever to do this! Whew!! By the way, I have to go water flowers. I have more but couldn't post them all....LOL!

I wrote to my son and asked him for a picture of his digs to share with my Freeper friends. Here is the pic, along with his reply:

"It's a little spartan I guess. Having a T.V., DVD player and a fridge has become part of the baseline normal equipment on most of the bigger bases. Guys buy them & then sell them dirt cheap to the guys who replace them, who turn around and do the same, so that by the time it gets to the fifth or sixth guy money no longer changes hands & you basically hand off the furniture with the keys to the room. That's why I have a steelers sticker on my fridge. Still gotta replace that. Maybe you could send a Green Bay one. Anyway, there it is- You can't see it, but I also have a vintage (looking) Gadsden & Culpepper "Don't Tread On Me" snake flag over my window."

Your petunias are so full and beautiful. The ones I have left (that the javelina didn’t eat) have flowers about the size of a quarter. I have used Miracle Grow, and water them every day - but still don’t have success.

And your ‘dollar tin’ is a STEAL! And, of course you picked out the perfect ‘dollar flowers’ to fill it with! Two bucks, and your son was right - at least $25 at the florist!

I have never seen a wine shamrock, but it looks like it is thriving! (Maybe the little birds underneath it are sneaking food to it at night.)

Your lillies are so vibrant! What a treat to see them bloom all summer!

If you ever find another flag plaque like that one - I’ll put my order in - right now.

Your grandaughters are very beautiful. (Shhhhhhh - someone told me they take after their grandma!)
