NEW YORK Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
Vick can participate without delay in preseason practices, workouts and meetings and can play in the final two preseason games if he can find a team that will sign him.

Figure with what 32 teams in the NFL, maybe 2/3’s of them are thinking of taking a flyer with Vick.
He’ll get a decent contract money wise, but the team that ultimately signs him will do so on the low risk/high reward basis, only....
Yeah ... unlike Goodell, JJ seems to have learned something from the Pacman Jones experiment.
time to dust-off the Ron Mexico jersey and the sombrero....
What Pete Rose did is minicule compared to the murder and torture of helpless animals Vick is guily of. If Vick had been white he would have been banned for life.
I'm just curious. What about hunting? Fishing? Trapping? Sled-dog racing?
I mean, if you think about it, I imagine a deer that has been gut shot with a bow and arrow is in a fair amount of pain as it runs all over hell and gone trying to get away.
Isn't that a whip the dog musher has at the back of the sled?
lolz
Poetic Justice.
“...fly in the face of Christian teachings?”
Do you mean as far as forgiveness is concerned? The post was my opinion. I’ll let God sort him out later.
I don't care what his punishment was. I just don't think a team should expect their fans to cheer for a POS like Vick. If you think he paid his debt, that's great. In a legal sense, I suppose he did. But he is still a sadistic POS who does not belong on a team, IMO.
Maybe he can get a job @ Petsmart?
That being said, right now Vick is a cash cow for PETA. In addition to legitimate gripes from fans who are sick of hoodlums in sports, PETA will be tub-thumping every time he shows up at a stadium. Any NFL team that signs him will become a traveling circus/freak show.
Now, here's the other problem. Vick is a quarterback. He has a unique skill set. Because of his speed and his maneuverability, he can do things practically no other quarterback can do. Quarterback is a unique position. You build your offense around your QB. Would any team be willing to take the risk on Vick? He burned Atlanta badly. Not many players can come back from a two year layoff in a sport where the average career is around three years.
I'm thinking he'll have to do the toe in the sand thing, and apologize a bunch of times, then some team will "give him a chance" and he'll start out being a specialty back in the Wildcat or something similar while they evaluate his skills.
Yep, but by Thanksgiving, he’ll be starting for the team that signs him. It would be sooner, but he won’t be eligible to play till week 5, or Oct. 11th.
Good thoughts to ponder...
"just had to do it"...
Unlike them good old boys in that there NASCAR eh?
Hunting sort of, I only go for clean kills, fishing not they don't have warm blood. The gut shot deer actually puts off my aim. I miss too often because I aim in front to assure a shoulder/kill shot. I really hate to see an animal suffer. That's why I don't trap anymore. I wouldn't jump on any one else for it but it's just not for me.
We will see if a high level athlete can recover from a conviction of mistreating dogs. Twenty years ago I would say no way, but this is the Hip Hop age.
I think Dallas has gone longer without having a player arrested than any other team. Although Jerry Jones gave Pacman, Tank Johnson and TO chances, he also cut all of them. TO never got arrested; he was just a pain in the rear end.
One word comes to mind when I think of what Michael Vick did... Barbaric

Exactly. And retired coach and Christian Tony Dungee is mentoring him.
Fair enough.
