LONDON (AFP) Scientists are looking for women willing to eat chocolate every day for a year -- all in the name of medical science.
Researchers at the University of East Anglia and a hospital in Norwich, eastern England are trying to find out whether chocolate can cut the risk of heart disease and need 40 women to step forward and help.
Most of the women will have to eat two bars of "super-strength chocolate specially formulated by Belgian chocolatiers" daily for one year and undergo several tests to measure how healthy their hearts are.
The others will have to eat regular chocolate as a placebo.

If I stop eating low carb and junk up for a while, I’d actually qualify for this study because I’m keeping my Type II at bay with my diet — it’s working too. I wonder if they’re looking for American subjects? I can dream...

Just a thought. If they want diabetics for this then the chocolate is probably sweetened with sugar alcohols. Two bars of that stuff, while tasting wonderful, is bound to give you the runs, isn’t it?

Now, now...why can't we just share? I'll eat the super-special chocolate and you can have the placebo milk-chocolate kind.

Ah - but read the restrictions on qualifying as a subject.
Just goes to show: The large print giveth and the small print taketh away!
