Did he live in a freezing climate? I guess digging bulbs would be the safe route.I am never sure just how to deal with situations that I read about online, due to regional differences in weather. The glad bulbs were purchased from Oregon and may be better suited to northern temps. I have some plants that were purchased as annuals, but return each year due to our mild winters, I suppose. And we buy plants that say full sun all day and they wither in the hot southern Alabama afternoons. I do not have a green thumb at all, I just persevere and learn from my mistakes :)
