Sorry to be so long getting back.

I have researched the precooked dried rice but you can do a lot more than just rice.

1) Cook the rice
2) Rinse the starch off well in cool water.
3) Spread out evenly on drying trays
4) Temp at 130
5) Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even drying.

The same basic procedure can be used for all forms of rice, wheat berries, barley, oats and pasta.

Since it has been precooked you can add in the last few minutes of cooking.

Some varieties of beans will split with precooking and drying..But that is just fine for soups and refried beans.

You are a wonder, thanks for the information on the dried grains, for that would be a help to the cook and save a lot of money, with being able to make your own instant foods.

So much to learn and so little time.
