The heat wave is about to break over here so maybe you’ll get some relief too. Your kitties sound like real survivors. I’m not sure what you could leave out for them to eat.

I leave out canned cat food, soft and easy to eat, when their teeth are still not strong enough for dry food and water.
I gave up and took the weakest one out of the box, it was too hot here for even me to survive.
They now live under the recliner and come out to eat and use a small sand box, LOL, they raise caine if there is a shortage of food for them.
They are so skinny and weak that they do not have a bit of play in them and are wild as can be, they are quiet willing to attack me....LOL, the hand that feeds them.
I have fans and an evaporative cooler, but nothing works in this heat.
A wet towel and lots of cold sluice downs, helps for 3 minutes.
