Doesn’t the very fact that you put this on FR skew the ‘bots, lol? It’s sort of like that idiot Larry Summers claiming the economy is improving because “economic depression” fell out of the top 100 “Google Trends.”

This is entirely too specific to be genuine, btw. Prior to there being so many alternatives for web search, Google Trends was at times oddly prescient, down in the lower reaches of popular searches. But, it was never anything remotely like “non-terran human escapes internment.” It was more like “tsunami” leaping out of nowhere in the weeks leading up to Christmas, when the tsunami hit Phuket and environs, in Thailand.

It's interesting that these guys use web-wide comments to build a sort of informal prediction exchange approach to predicting the future. Of course, I'd guess that the forums they mine for comments are, shall we say, a bit close to the fringe.
