Let’s send Obama there on a one-way trip as the first man on Mars
Sadly, it doesn’t matter where we want to go next. This administration won’t come up with the money. Too busy spending it all on so-called health care reform, alleged stimulus, oh and those Tuesday night concerts at the White House. No money for the space program.

Aw, that’s such a fun idea.
Unfortunately, when Obammie the Commie is done with America, we won’t be able to afford a trip to the shore, let alone another major mission into outer space.
I can see sending men back to the moon. A moon base actually makes some sense, too. But, as for exploration of deeper space by humans, it is relatively worthless. On human space trips, a large percentage of the equipment, expense and systems are solely to keep the people alive. We could likely do 10 equivalent unmanned missions for every manned mission. We should be sending probes all over the solar system with new instrumentation to see what is going on out there. They could be built with continuous power supplies and long-life components intended to survive 100 or more years. What would we know about earth if we based our knowledge of the planet on a handful of observations over a few years?
Why is Armstrong never in the spotlight?
The federal govenment is broke. Abolish the departments of Education, Energy, Health and Human Sevices, Housing and Urban Development and combine a few others. Fire all Democrats at the voting booth. The parasites must be expelled.
Then we can build giant recreational domes for a lunar tourist industry. The domes in low gravity would permit humans to experience self propelled flight — sort of like skiing.
