NEW YORK — Could it be that President Barack Obama's Midas touch is starting to dull a bit, even among members of his own party?

Conservative House Democrats are balking at the cost and direction of Obama's top priority, an overhaul of the nation's health care system. A key Senate Democrat, Max Baucus of Montana, complains that Obama's opposition to paying for it with a tax on health benefits "is not helping us."
Another Democrat, Rep. Dan Boren of Oklahoma, tells his local newspaper that Obama is too liberal and is "very unpopular" in his district.
From his first days in office, Obama's popularity helped him pass the landmark $787 billion stimulus package and fueled his ambitious plans to overhaul the nation's health care system and tackle global warming.
Obama continues to be comparatively popular. But now recent national surveys have shown a measurable drop in his job approval rating, even among Democrats. A CBS news survey out this week had his national approval rating at 57 percent, and his standing among Democrats down 10 percentage points since last month, from 92 percent to 82 percent.
If only some sleeping Dems would wake up and realize that they aren’t as free with their party in office.
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t everything King Midas touched turn to gold? Everything Czar of Czars Obama touched turns to crap. He’s no King Midas!

I have a feeling over this weekend that the government-run media is suddenly getting cold feet on MR too big to fail.

Coming from and living in Oklahoma, the state that overwhelmingly voted McCain and Republican, to have our Congressman come out STATING that his constituents think Obama is too Liberal is a big DUH!!! BUT, it does mean that he is making a statement to keep his job that he’s not in favor of this spending fool!! YES.....the dominoes are starting to fall........
Meanwhile the Rah-Rah-Sis-Boom-Bah cheerleaders at MarketWatch have articles posted about how healthcare reform (rationed care) is gaining momentum.
The more we hear about this bill, the worse it gets.

Hmmm, the opposite of Midas is Sadim (strangely close to Saddam, as in Hussein). Zero’s middle name is Hussein.

He never had a Midas touch. He claimed to have one, almost literally, as did the AP et al. Unfortunately for us, everything he touches turns brown and smelly no matter how much the press tries to polish it.
